Airport & ground transportation
Getting here
Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) is the closest airport — roughly 20 minutes from NCCU by car. Uber and Lyft both operate at RDU with a dedicated rideshare pickup area.
Amtrak also runs to Durham Station downtown if you're traveling from the Northeast corridor.
Parking: plan to park in the Latham Parking Deck (705 East Lawson Street) and arrive 45 minutes before your session so you have time to park, check in, and get miked up.

Main Summit venue. Check in at the Speaker Table in the Registration Center on the Second Floor.
Ground options
Getting from RDU to campus
- Fly into Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) — roughly 20 minutes from NCCU by car.
- Uber and Lyft both operate at RDU with a dedicated rideshare pickup area.
- Rental cars are available on site at RDU if you are bringing materials with you.
- Amtrak serves Durham Station downtown, about 10 minutes from campus.
- Plan to arrive on campus 20–30 minutes before your call time to park and check in.
Rideshare & GPS tips
- For Uber, Lyft, taxi or GPS, enter “NCCU Student Center, 500 Nelson Street, Durham, NC 27707.”
- If your rideshare app does not recognize the Student Center, use “Nelson Street and Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27707.”
- Do not use only the general NCCU campus address — it may route you to a different area of campus.
- Download or save the official NCCU campus map before you arrive.
- Once on campus, follow Summit signage and volunteer directions to the Student Center.

Dress code & packing
What to wear & bring
Business professional whenever you're on stage or on a panel — you'll be photographed and recorded. Business casual is fine for workshops and evening events. Comfortable shoes — you'll be on your feet.
- Presentation on a USB drive as a backup, plus a copy in your email
- Printed talking points or notes — don't rely on the podium screen
- Business cards if you have them
- Phone charger and battery pack
- Reusable water bottle
- Layers — session rooms run cool

NCCU Student Center, 500 Nelson Street, Durham, NC 27707
~20 min from RDU
- 1From RDU, take I-40 West toward Durham (about 15 miles).
- 2Take Exit 274 for NC-147 N / Durham Freeway.
- 3Follow NC-147 N to Exit 12B for Fayetteville Street.
- 4Turn left onto Fayetteville Street, then right onto Nelson Street.
- 5The Student Center (Building #6) is on your right at 500 Nelson Street.
- 6Park in the Latham Parking Deck and walk to the NCCU Student Center and go up to the 2nd Floor for Check-In.
When you arrive: the Speaker Check-In is on the Second Floor Lobby. Look for Summit signage and volunteers with branded sweatshirts and event team lanyards.
